Co-owners and former roommates Vinnie Rotondaro and Rory Adair are bringing a laidback, eclectically cozy vibe to the newly renovated space, which was originally built in 1890 and actually was a living room in a past life. The new iteration replicates that vintage hominess with a candle-filled fireplace, dim lighting, a record player, bookshelves near a bay window and more come-and-sit-awhile touches. (more…)

Let’s start off with the good news. While emails were not returned directly, it appears the reader report of Bourbon closing in September is FALSE. Yesterday Bourbon replied to some tweets from Barred in DC after rumors persisted of an upcoming closure: “Hi guys, we’re NOT closing, and haven’t storied anything this week. Rumors of our death (by POP) have been greatly exaggerated. But come by for $8 Bulleit juleps or Old-fashioneds.” A sigh of relief could be heard from Florida Ave to Columbia Road.

Sadly, rumors of other closures persist in Adams Morgan. A reader hears that “Metro K Supermarket on Columbia and Belmont will close at the end of November.” I went into the store on Saturday and an employee said they also heard the store would be closing in November but couldn’t confirm 100%. STAY TUNED on that and all fronts.

hahaha thanks to Josh for sending a sneak peek inside the McDonald’s under renovation in Adams Morgan:
“I’m truly grateful it’s not the standard red-and-yellow, but…”
STAY TUNED.
