Sugar Fox, from Little Red Fox Folks, Opens this weekend

“Husband-wife duo Jena and Matt Carr of Little Red Fox will open Sugar Fox, a neighborhood ice cream shop and bakery, this weekend, in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The shop will offer house-made and customizable treats including ice cream by the scoop, milkshakes, cakes, and cupcakes.

Ed. Note: I guess this finally settles the neighborhood name dispute.

Winter hours: Thursday-Sunday, 12pm-9pm

Sugar Fox will feature a variety of sweets including house-made ice cream by the scoop, offered in rotating seasonal flavors including Peach Pie with peaches, cinnamon and Little Red Fox’s pie dough crumble and Lemon Sorbet with candied hibiscuses served in a cup, cone, or nostalgic milkshake glass. Head Baker Lauren Parlato will also showcase a roster of custom cupcakes like Blueberry-filled Chocolate with Chocolate Frosting, Raspberry-filled Lemon with Lemon frosting in addition to traditional flavors like Red Velvet, Chocolate and Vanilla. Cakes will be available in select flavors including Lemon, Red Velvet, Carrot, Vanilla and Chocolate by the slice or whole. Icing options consist of Vanilla Buttercream, Cream Cheese, Lemon with the option of customizing icing color.

SPACE:

Sugar Fox offers an intimate and inviting interior, boasting floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing for an abundance of natural light. The bright space is complimented by colorful décor including playful depictions of foxes adorning the walls, hanging light fixtures, and a chalk-board menu. Wooden countertops line the walls with high-top chairs adjacent to small banquet-style tables, which allow for communal seating as well as a large display case featuring seasonal baked goods.

CATERING:

Sugar Fox will feature online ordering for custom cakes and cupcakes for holidays, birthdays and other celebrations. All custom orders require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice and may be placed by visiting the Sugar Fox website. Sugar Fox is open Thursday – Sunday, with weekday hours coming soon.”
