Solly’s, one of the very, very best bars in D.C. posts this morning:
“Soooo. Solly’s will close at 10pm 12/24 until March. We appreciate everyone’s support and look forward to returning. Please stop in for a laugh and a Powers before then. We will be posting ways to help support our staff during the shutdown so stay tuned.”

Thanks to Neal for sending the sad news. Taqueria Nacional had reopened the T Street location in August. Taqueria Nacional first opened on T Street in 2013. Taqueria Nacional, was originally located at 400 North Capitol Street, NW. The new, and will continue to stay open location in Mount Pleasant can be found at 3213 Mt Pleasant St, NW. (more…)

Prior to Bar Lorea this space was home to Diet Starts Monday, The BBQ Joint, Den of Thieves, Hanoi House, and Blackbyrd Warehouse space. Check out Victory’s Miami menu here. My friend and I were out walking today (Friday) and stopped at the corner of Vermont and U right around 4:45pm by Service Bar, and a guy rode by us on a bike and slapped my ass super hard – so hard at first I thought it may have been the bike handle, but it didn’t seem to send him off balance and he didn’t look back to apologize or indicate it was an accident. He rode off on Vermont going towards 9:30 Club. It shook me up for sure, definitely violating. (more…)
