“Dear PoPville,

Sunday morning around 10:30 Am I was riding an ebike at 14th and U St, NW and I crashed.

It probably did not appear that bad but with my 3 metal joints I was laying on the ground in severe pain. A nice man walked over picked up the e bike for me and asked if I was OK. I was so embarrassed that I got up and said thank you and told him I was fine when I really just wanted to lay there. Lol

He could have went about his day like everybody else but it’s good to be reminded that there are sweet people in this world. And I just wanted to express my gratitude in that moment.

Thanks to Clif for sending: “Cooper’s Hawk on top of scaffolding at 2020 12th St NW, the same location as the bald eagle on the balcony a little while back.”

If you spot a hawk, any interesting wildlife or celebrity skateboarder Tony Hawk, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted it to [email protected]. Thanks! Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.
