“Dear PoPville,
One of my dogs was bitten at a dog park last weekend. I didn’t know the dog was injured at the time, and neither did the other owner. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to get information from the other owner regarding vaccination records “just in case.” My dog is now on a 45 day quarantine. I’m looking for any help possible to encourage the other owner to call the Humane Rescue Alliance to provide vaccination information, so my dogs and I can get back to our normal routine of long group walks and doggy daycare.
The incident happened at Bundy Dog Park, between 4th & 5th Street, on P St. NW, on Sunday, February 18, around 1:00pm. The other dog whose records are needed looks like a yellow lab mix, with a shepherd looking face, with dark face markings, named Mambo. The other owner simply needs to call the Humane Rescue Alliance at 202-576-6664, and provide vaccination information. The Human Rescue Alliance said they will not be in trouble for calling in to provide the information. The goal is to prevent rabies in the District.
Additional information. Thanks to a helpful person who was at the dog park last weekend, the dog whose vaccinations records are needed is named Mambo. It is a yellow lab mix, with a shepherd looking face, with some darker markings on the face. If you know anyone with a dog meeting this description and named Mambo, please encourage the owner to call the Humane Rescue Alliance ,so the the little white dog in this picture does not have to be quarantined.”

From a press release:
“Returning for its second year, Drink Company’s Cherry Blossom Pop-Up Bar opens March 1st to usher in springtime with inspiration from both D.C. and Tokyo. This time, Drink Company is partnering with the National Cherry Blossom Festival to further celebrate the Japanese gift that has become unanimous with spring in D.C.

“This is our second annual love letter to DC and the, quite literally, beautiful relationship we have to Japan, enshrined in our Cherry Blossom trees,” says Drink Company President Derek Brown. “Last year we had a sensation with Mario Bar and we want to keep the pop-culture element alive by featuring perhaps our second closest association with Japan, Godzilla. While there will be pagodas and blossoms, we know that most Americans think about the famous monster flick when they think Japan and we’ve given it the PUB treatment: giant monster replicas, flashing warnings, Tokyo streets and drinks to match.” (more…)

The next door neighbor to the subject property sold in January 2017 for $835,116. It was a very similar house, with an unfinished basement, radiator heat (which home inspectors generally like for being efficient), but with one less bathroom and a less updated kitchen. These homes are close to the Shaw/Howard Metro, and even closer to U Street (Brixton, Glen’s Garden Market, Nellie’s, Warby Parker, etc.) (more…)
