Mothership will be moving into the former Brown’s Caribbean Bakery at 3301 Georgia Ave, NW.

Mothership will be a restaurant and bakery in what was formerly a carry-out space on Georgia Avenue. With community tables, weekend brunch and family-friendly BBQs, we hope Mothership will be a community cornerstone and meeting place. Chef/Owner Stephan Boillon will offer delicious baked goods & pastries, gourmet pizzas, small plates and seasonal tasting menus, designed to showcase great ingredients.

By preparing farm-to-table, seasonal ingredients, sustainable seafood, and pastured meats, we will provide good wholesome food to upper Georgia Avenue in an inviting neighborhood space. Our goal is to give our patrons tasty and unique food options, whether they are eating a vegan, vegetarian, pescaterian or omnivorous diet.

With funds raised on Kickstarter, Mothership will

Create handcrafted, custom bar & dining tables using reclaimed materials
Design and build ADA accessible bathrooms using reclaimed fixtures
Install a 10 ton Energy Efficient HVAC system

“On Saturday May 12, 2012, Howard University will host its 144th Commencement Convocation ceremony at 10:00am on the upper quadrangle of the Main Campus of the university.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic are expected to increase in volume beginning on Thursday May 10, 2012, due to the many visitors expected, and individual colleges and schools hosting separate graduation ceremonies at different facilities on the main campus as well.

The following streets are expected to see an increase in traffic (vehicles and pedestrians) from 9:00am Thursday May 10, 2012, through 7:00pm Saturday May 12, 2012″

Dulcinea Bar and Grill opened at 2618 Georgia Ave, NW back in Feb. 2012. The owners send word that their liquor license has been approved and they’ve launched updated menus. And they’ll be applying for patio seating soon as well.

“Kokeb Ethiopian restaurant just opened yesterday at 3013A Georgia Ave NW. It looks like they’re still getting their things in order (no menu yet), but the food (we tried the Keye Wot and assorted veggies) was as good as any of our other favorite Ethiopian places in DC.

I really hope this one sticks in the neighborhood.”

Nice! Sounds promising. We’ll def. revisit for a proper judging after they’ve been open for a bit and finalize their menu.
