Folks talking about the new brunch at Slash Run got me thinking – it’s time to talk the tastiest eats in Petworth circa 2018 (5779). We’ve documented the explosion of the food scene in Petworth over the years and I’m blown away by how many options there are now. A reader and MPD reported 11:15pm Tuesday night:

“Shooting //800 blk of Kennedy Street, NW //No lookout”

Update from MPD:

“On Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at approximately 10:50PM, MPD units responded to investigate a call for the sounds of gunshots in the area of the 700 block of Kennedy Street, NW. Upon arrival, units observed multiple shell casings in the street and located (1) victim who appeared to be suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the lower left leg. The victim was conscious and breathing and transported to an area hospital for treatment. (more…)

“My friend texted me from inside Roosevelt HS (where he was working) 30 mins ago that the school was on lockdown because a shot was fired outside the school. Apparently now they are outside after police arrived. Anyone else know more info?”

Jonah reported that the lockdown had been lifted by 4pm.

Nick reports around 3/3:15pm:

3 shots fired in alley that runs between Iowa and Webster. Right outside my back door. Police tape up in alley now and multiple officers on site”
