On my walk home yesterday night while on New Hampshire Ave. near the intersection with Georgia Ave., I spotted the monstrosity. My first inclination was that it was some sort of marmot or beaver that wandered far from home, but upon closer inspection I concluded it might, in fact, be a humongous rat, or some sort of blasphemous rat hybrid. “On March 14, 2022, at approximately 9:30 pm, the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 4400 block of Kansas Avenue, Northwest, for the report of a carjacking that had just occurred. Once at the location a victim reported that three suspect, one armed with a gun, approach him and demanded his vehicle. After a brief attempt at driving a stick shift the suspects fled on foot, leaving the victim’s vehicle.

Update from Metro Transit Police: “ARRESTED: 15-year old male, of Bladensburg, MD, on charge of assault w/a deadly weapon in shooting at Georgia Ave-Petworth Stn last night. MTPD quickly ID’d suspect, who turned himself into police overnight w/o incident. Victim is in stable condition, expected to recover.”
