From Alert DC: “MPD reports the 1300 block of Upshur Street NW between 13th Street and 14th Street NW is closed due to police activity. Please use alternate routes.”
A reader reported: “Heard a gunshot on Upshur Street NW around 4:10. Saw kids running towards 14th. There are cops and ambulances here now. They just put police tape up.”

“SHOOTING, PROBABLE FATAL— 13th St at Upshur St NW DC near Roosevelt High School. Male in cardiac arrest.”
Update from MPD:
“At approximately 4:15 pm this afternoon, the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Upshur Street, NW, for the report of a shooting. Once at the location, an adult male was discovered suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. The adult male was treated and transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
