“On March 14, 2022, at approximately 9:30 pm, the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 4400 block of Kansas Avenue, Northwest, for the report of a carjacking that had just occurred. Once at the location a victim reported that three suspect, one armed with a gun, approach him and demanded his vehicle. After a brief attempt at driving a stick shift the suspects fled on foot, leaving the victim’s vehicle.

Update from Metro Transit Police: “ARRESTED: 15-year old male, of Bladensburg, MD, on charge of assault w/a deadly weapon in shooting at Georgia Ave-Petworth Stn last night. MTPD quickly ID’d suspect, who turned himself into police overnight w/o incident. Victim is in stable condition, expected to recover.”

Dave Statter reports: “Reported shooting victim on the platform at the Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metro Station.”

From WMATA: “UPDATED: Yellow/Green Line Delay: Trains bypassing Georgia Ave w/ single tracking btwn Georgia Ave & Fort Totten due to a police investigation at Georgia Ave. Expect delays.”

From MPD: “Shooting Investigation in the 200 block of Upshur St, NW. Lookout for 3 males, B/M, 20’s, blue jacket, blue jeans. B/M gray jacket and blue jeans. B/M, wearing mask, black jacket and black pants L/S in a 2016, Mazda with VA tag UDX6927 dark tinted windows and a bike rack on top.”
