From the DC Public Library last night:

“This evening at the Petworth Library there was a targeted attack involving two individuals in which one lost their life. In consideration of DC Public Library staff who were present during this traumatic event, the Petworth Library will remain closed through Sunday, March 5 and will reopen Monday, March 6. Thank you for your understanding.”

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in reference a homicide that occurred on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in the 4200 block of Kansas Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 7:00 pm, Fourth District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from stab wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 45-year-old Ali Zarrincalaki of no fixed address. (more…)

Friday February 10, 2023 My bag was taken by woman seated next me in library. Why do I know? The woman was found in my apartment caught on camera in my building entering with my keys checking my mailbox and later entering my unit. I arrived 30 minutes later and she bagged my toiletries and gone through my closet bagging clothes. (more…)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, February 4, 2023, in the 1400 block of Spring Road, Northwest.

At approximately 4:04 pm, Fourth District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male shooting victim inside of the vestibule of a residential building. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 39-year-old Aaron Robinson, of Northwest, DC. (more…)
