“Today at approximately 8:00 PM two juvenile males were near the corner of Otis St and Warder St, NW when two suspects approached them and began shooting at them. Both victims sustained injuries to their lower extremities, none appear to be life threatening at this time.

The suspects were described as males wearing all dark clothing and masks.

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting which may have taken place in the 500 block of Irving Street NW. An adult male victim walked into an area hospital with a non life threatening gunshot wound to the arm. The incident was reported to have taken place near the 500 block of Irving Street NW. Third District units are attempting to locate a crime scene however none has been located yet.

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred in the 600 block of Morton Street, Northwest, on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

At approximately 4:23 pm, the victim was attempting to retrieve property that was stolen from his vehicle. While at the listed location, the victim engaged in a physical altercation with several suspects. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and shot the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.

On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, 23 year-old Michael Muschette, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 600 block of Columbia Road NW. An adult male has sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body and is being transported to an area hospital for treatment.

“Dear PoPville,

I moved into my rowhouse in Park View about 2.5 years ago and both adjacent properties were under some serious construction: the facades of the houses were still up, but behind them were huge holes in the ground. Construction has moved super slowly over the past two years, with issues of homeless people sleeping in the unlocked/unfinished houses, and my roommates and I have seen other sketchy behavior (i.e., groups of guys on bikes go in during the middle of the night, girls in very little clothing going in as well) while construction on those two houses was seemingly at a standstill. At one point, maybe eight months ago, the developer contacted my house asking if we had any information about a robbery that took place the prior evening: about $15k worth of appliances were stolen.
