“Hines Closes on Land to Develop Luxury Condos at The Parks at Walter Reed”

“Hines, Urban Atlantic and Triden Development Group announced today they have closed on one acre at The Parks at Walter Reed to develop Kite House, a 109-unit luxury condominium property. Grosvenor Americas provided financing through its Structured Development Finance program. Bank OZK is providing the construction financing. Construction on Kite House is planned to begin in October with completion of the project in early 2023.

Kite House will offer contemporary and stylish one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes elevated by concierge service, convenient coworking space, a modern fitness center, and an inspiring indoor-outdoor lounge. “Far right extremist groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are planning to attend a rally later this month [September 18th] at the U.S. Capitol that is designed to demand “justice” for the hundreds of people who have been charged in connection with January’s insurrection, according to three people familiar with intelligence gathered by federal officials.

As a result, U.S. Capitol Police have been discussing in recent weeks whether the large perimeter fence that was erected outside the Capitol after January’s riot will need to be put back up, the people said.”
