Moi Moi’s website says:

“Born in The Gambia, West Africa, Howsoon Cham known as “H.O.” came to the United States at the age of 18 to go to college. Son of a diplomat, H.O. studied international affairs at Bethany College in West Virginia on a soccer scholarship. During school breaks he worked in local restaurants to help fund his college education and quickly developed a keen interest in cooking. After graduating from college, HO following the footsteps of his father briefly worked at the Gambian Embassy, but his passion for food prevailed and he followed his heart to become a full time chef. Washington National Cathedral to Host Funeral Service of Senator Bob Dole on Friday

“The funeral of former Sen. Bob Dole will be held at Washington National Cathedral on Friday, December 10 at 11 a.m. ET. Sen. Dole served for decades in Congress, both as a Senator and House member representing his home state of Kansas, after being severely wounded in combat in World War II. He was the Republican party’s Vice Presidential nominee in the 1976 election and Presidential nominee in the 1996 election. During his tenure, he also served for three years as Senate Majority Leader. Sen. Dole died on December 5, 2021; he was 98. The service will be attended by President Biden and other dignitaries. Shots Fired Inside Columbia Heights Metro around 7:15pm Last Night

Natalie wrote: “Columbia Height station is closed right now, the yellow/green is going straight from Shaw to Petworth. Sounded like the conductor said it was because of “police activity.”

Alan Henney reported: “SHOTS FIRED IN METRO STATION— Columbia Heights Metro, 3030 14th St NW-DC. Police found shell casings in Columbia Heights station. NOBODY FOUND SHOT YET. Gunman may have fled on Metro train being held at Mt. Vernon Square.”

Taylor writes: “Fellow Columbia Heights residents:

Officers with @MetroTransitPD are handing out these flyers at the Columbia Heights Metro stop this morning.

The incident happened Wednesday night around 7:15pm ET.”

“Anyone have ideas on how to get an abandoned car towed?”

“Dear PoPville,

Anyone have ideas on how to get an abandoned car towed? Is Janeese Lewis George’s office good on moving these things along?

I first spotted this thing in maybe early October – windows were smashed in then. Kept forgetting to 311 it and finally got around to it at the end of the month – said it had been there a week just to be conservative. Since then, the 311 site isn’t showing any movement, and there aren’t any tickets on it. (more…)
