“MPD is on the scene of a barricaded individual in the 900 block of U Street, NW”

“UPDATE: MPD’s ERT located two individuals inside the building. They have been detained and detectives are investigating. The were no other individuals located inside the building. No injuries reported.”

Mark sends above around 8:30am: “Big police presence at 8th & Florida. 20+ MPD cars”

From MPD: “MPD is on the scene of a barricaded individual in the 900 block of U Street, NW. ERT has been requested to the scene. There are numerous road closures in the area.”

“Update: At approx 8:06 a.m., an MPD officer was flagged down for a potential armed robbery in the area of 8th Street & Florida Avenue, NW. It was reported that two potential suspects ran inside a building in the 2000 block of Georgia Ave and may be barricaded inside.” (more…)
