“Royal Palm Social Club, from DC-based Mission Group owners Fritz Brogan and Reed Landry, will open in spring, 2022 at 26 N Street and Van Street SE in the new West Half building directly across from the centerfield gates of National Park.

The two-floor bar-centric restaurant will be built in a sprawling 13,000 square-foot space. (more…)

Swingers recently opened in Dupont and now we’ve learned of plans for another spot in Navy Yard near the ballpark.

Thanks to GG and Kelly for sending: “Swingers Golf Club applied for a liquor license at 1250 Half St, SE in the Kelvin building, just across from center field.”

The liquor license placard says:

“A new Retailer’s Class “C” Restaurant offering food, alcoholic beverages, and indoor miniature golf. Seating capacity of 600 and Total Occupancy Load of 1,075. (more…)

Tap99 Opens in Navy Yard

“”99 bottles of beer on the wall” may be an age old saying, but for 24-year-old Jason Cherry, it is the inspiration for 99 self-pour taps in Tap99, a new self-pour taphouse and restaurant located directly across the street from the Nationals Park main gates.

Tap99 will open the week of August 9th, Tap99 will be the first fully self-pour taphouse in Washington D.C. The 2,800 square foot concept will include 99 self-pour taps offering beer, wine, ciders, and pre- mixed cocktails, with options being constantly rotated with new, seasonal selections from local craft breweries and distributors. The location will have 98 seats and will have an outdoor patio with seating as well. Tap99’s kitchen will focus on artisan pizzas made in a handcrafted Marra Forni brick oven, in addition to other small and shareable plates that include maple buffalo shrimp and tuna poke nachos. “On 7/18/21 at approximately 11:50pm, MPD units were at New Jersey Ave SE & M Street SE when they observed a vehicle that had recently been taken in an armed carjacking in PG County, MD. The carjacked vehicle was a Nissan Pathfinder with Maryland tags. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it led them on a brief pursuit, ending on M Street SW, near the District Wharf. (more…)

Nationals Game Suspended After Three People Shot Outside Nats Park around 9:30pm Saturday Night

“As a result of the shooting incident, tonight’s (Saturday) Nationals game has been suspended.”

“At approximately 9:30 PM, 1D officers heard sounds of gunshots coming from S.Capitol & O Street SW. 1D officers responded to the location and found 1 adult female victim, suffering from a graze wound to her back. Minutes later 1D officers got information that two additional victims drove themselves to a local hospital and received treatment for injuries sustained at this location. All of the victims are in stable condition. The lookout for the involved suspect vehicle is for a dark colored sedan, unknown make, model or tag number. Last scene fleeing at a high rate of speed southbound on S. Capitol Street SW. This incident is not related or has anything to do with the Nationals stadium. (more…)
