“Fifth District detectives are investigating an assault that took place in the 1100 block of Orren Street, NE at approximately 4:30pm this afternoon. The victim reported standing at the bus stop when he was approached by an unknown black male and struck in the head with a pipe. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital, and the suspect made good his escape. Anyone with information related to this offense is encouraged to call MPD at 202-727-9099, or text the information to 5-0-4-1-1.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with Intent to Rob while Armed (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, December 2, 2018, in the 600 block of H Street, Northeast.
At approximately 10:50 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. Once inside of the establishment, the suspect approached a cashier and demanded US currency. The suspect then brandished a handgun and a struggle ensured. During the struggle, the suspect discharged the weapon striking the victim. (more…)

They discovered an adult male with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower extremity. The subject was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
