Saw this going around twitter last night from Sip With Socialites. Not the President or First Lady but still pretty cool…

Ed. Note: I have a very similar hat. I’ve had that hat for over 10 years now. I don’t want people making fun of me when they see me wearing that hat. I had it first damn it.

Speaking of hats, did I mention I was raising money for the for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation in their fight to end Childhood Cancers? I’ll be shaving my head March 13th with Team Boundary Stone and you guys have been incredibly generous. For those who still wish to do so (and get a PoPville shirt for your kindness too) please consider donating here. Thanks for considering and thanks again to all who’ve already done so!!

“Dear PoPville,

Just walked by the canal and noticed it is very low or maybe drained. Are they doing work on it?”

Anyone happen to know what’s up?

From the Georgetown BID:

Holy moly – not sure how I missed this huge news but it’s in the same Washington Business Journal permit roundup as the pizza spot below:

“Three new restaurants incoming to this Georgetown building — Grace Street Coffee, South Block Juice Co. and SundeVich. It is the sixth local outpost for South Block Juice, and the second for the sandwich shop Sundevich. For Grace Street Coffee, there is but one goal: “to make the best cup of coffee.” The three restaurants will share a common seating area with 45 seats.”

Updates as they get closer to opening.

They’ll be located across the street from the new Chaia brick and mortar space:

From an email:

“After months of anticipation, we will finally opened our doors!

One of the main reasons our Beer Director Greg Engert got his start in the craft beer world was Belgian beer. Nine years and a handful of beer-centric bars, restaurants and a brewery later, we’re thrilled to be opening a bistro and bar in the heart of Georgetown that is completely dedicated to the rustic cuisine and fabled brewing culture of Belgium.

Our doors open at 5:30 PM for dinner and our 50 drafts along with cocktails & wine will be flowing with an expansive breadth of selections that illuminate the flavor-driven, craft-brewed complexity that is the trademark of the best Belgian beers.

I’m sorry I couldn’t get to everyone’s sidewalk of shame submission but this last one was one of the worse I’ve seen. Anyone know’s responsible for this section? A reader nominates:

“On P in Georgetown, just west of the bridge”

I was wondering what was going on at the former Yummi Crawfish (puro cafe) before that – found lots of info from their design team:

“Once in a while we hear of a project that touches close to home and one of our latest clients, Zannchi is just that. A team of two young, inspired, Georgetown MBA students reached out to us to help bring their dreams into reality. What they have created is a fresh, new concept Korean restaurant that will be sure to grab the attention of any food fan in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Having family from Korea we were able to draw from family experience and trips abroad to create a amazing dining experience that will compliment the amazing food that will be served. Its been a pleasure working with their team and we cannot wait for the grand opening in a few short weeks. You can find their restaurant right in the heart of Georgetown on Wisconsin Avenue. The expected opening date is the second week of February so be sure to stop by and check out what big dreams and amazing execution can create. We have a few surprises in terms of the design and you will want to keep posted to see the big finished reveal. Lee Design and Interiors proudly serving DC, Virginia, Maryland and abroad for over 30 years!”
