My boyfriend and I were followed and harassed by a homeless man last night around the Logan/Dupont area. The encounter was rather aggressive and continuously escalated – with him blocking our path, trying to get my boyfriend to give him money from the ATM, and yelling and cursing at us until we managed to run away and call the cops. Come join your fellow DC residents in an evening of service to this city’s homeless and hungry, and have a great time too!

DC homeless center Charlie’s Place is providing a Christmas dinner for the homeless on Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. We need volunteers help prepare and/or serve the meal, set-up the space and clean up afterward – you’re welcome to participate in whatever you can make time for. We work to provide a welcoming and festive atmosphere for both our clients and volunteers each Christmas, and this year we’ll also have St. Margaret’s Choir singing Christmas carols during the dinner.
