“Dear PoPville,

I’m wondering if others had a similar experience to me today, though: when running through Columbia heights/Mt Pleasant, behind the zoo, then back up Harvard street to 16th (notably, passing the construction site on the 1500 block of Monroe st), I developed a burning sensation on my lips, severe eye irritation and a lot of congestion. It’s only subsiding now, an hour or so later.

I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience around there? Of course, could have been something else too.”

Thanks to Amani for sending:

“Hell of a way to wake up in Columbia Heights. My car has also been hit on my street (Oak St) by a UPS truck because they allow trucks thru in a narrow street with so much construction. The driver ripped off their plates and ran.”

Thanks to Erin for sending: “Saw these lost bike flyers posted along 11th St. NW this morning (between Monroe and Park). Thought you could amplify it. Thanks!”

From MPD:

“On May 5, 2020, at approximately 7:17pm the Fourth District made an arrest for Carrying a Pistol Without a License. Due to many citizen complaints, Fourth District Officers engaged people hanging out in the parking lot at 14th St & Meridian St, NW. One individual took unprovoked flight from the police and was stopped. He was subsequently arrested and charged with an unlawful handgun. He was in possession of a 45 Caliber semi-auto handgun during the arrest. Great work by the Fourth District Officers!”
