Continuing Coverage of the Chicken on a Leash Cont.

Yesterday we had the great pleasure of sharing a sighting inside the Columbia Heights Target. A few folks messaged me and we’ve learned that the chicken’s name is ‘Pollo’, (not Leslie.) A bit literal but happy to know it. Another reader sends the photo above from Taco Bell and admits being a bit weirded out but I’m definitely gonna add bonus points for this sighting because the chicken, I mean Pollo seems to be wearing a custom made fleece! Also bonus points for the leash.

Update! Now hearing the chicken’s name might actually be “Nugget.” Stay tuned.

Shootings in Columbia Heights and (Update: Homicide) Truxton Circle Last Night

“Good Evening. 3D is currently investigating a Shooting at 14th & Irving St NW. An Adult Male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to an area hospital in stable non-life threatening condition.

Shooting at 14th and Spring around 10:30pm Last Night

From MPD: “On 9/8/22 at approximately 10:30pm, Fourth District Members responded to the 3600 block of 14th Street, NW for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim who had been shot in the leg. He was conscious and breathing, and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. There is no lookout at this time.

Old Room 11 Space becoming Buddy’s (confirmed) Now Hiring!

Back in July we heard that the new restaurant/bar coming to the old Room 11 space would be called Buddy’s – looks that’s now confirmed and they’re getting closer to opening. Thanks to G. for sending from a job announcement:
