“This just happened at 11th and Girard in Columbia Heights. I hope everyone is ok.”

“This Siamese (or part Siamese?) cat has been hanging out on my front stoop on Harvard Street NW in Columbia Heights. He came over and let me pick him up today. He seems lost and friendly so I think he may have a home. I have him in my bathroom for now, and will start investigating potential microchipping/home location tomorrow.”

“Mural vandalized with “real” (?) graffiti on 11th between fairmont and girard. Guess it didn’t last long.”

From an email:
“826DC is a nonprofit tutoring and writing center for students ages 6-18, and is part of a national organization co-founded by the best-selling author, Dave Eggers. This Saturday, we will be unveiling our brand new home inside the historic Tivoli building. Previously housed behind the Museum of Unnatural History, the new location will be fronted by an equally unique shop: Tivoli’s Astounding Magic Supply Co. This will be the first chance to shop the new store, while also learning about our upcoming Fall/Winter programs for students. All proceeds from the store benefit 826DC’s 100% free writing programs for DC youth.” (more…)

A reader reports at 1:45pm:
“BOA in Columbia Heights was robbed this afternoon”
Ed. Note: Yesterday a bank was robbed and an arrest was made in Adams Morgan.
