Last week we learned the former Pulpo space in Cleveland Park will become a BBQ spot from the owners of Cleveland Park Bar and Grill. The owner tells me via email the name will be Fat Pete’s BBQ and they hope to open in “a few weeks” – updates as we get closer to opening date.

Last we heard back in Feb. there was some scuttlebutt that Picca Pollo A La Brasa would be taking over the former Pulpo, former Tackle Box, former McDonald’s space in Cleveland Park. Thanks to a reader for sending word about the new Shiner Bock coming soon signage:
The Washington Post reported:
“The owners of the Cleveland Park Bar and Grill will take over the space and turn it into a barbecue joint.”

“I just cut through the Cleveland Park Exxon – one of the pricier gas options in DC. Some guys in Shell uniforms were scraping the Exxon logos off. Is this a transfer of ownership or corporate gang warfare spilling on to the semi-suburban streets of Cleveland Park?”
