What the Holy Hell – 94 year old woman robbed and stabbed in hand in Cleveland Park – Gas Station refuses help.

“A 94-year-old woman is recovering after someone attacked her and took her purse in D.C.’s Cleveland Park neighborhood Monday night. [2900 block of Porter Street NW, 11:15pm]

The woman says she walked to an Exxon gas station nearby to ask for help, but an employee there turned her away.”

The small format Targets have soft opened (with great fanfare and ribbon cuttings last night) in Cleveland Park and Shepherd Park. I stopped by Cleveland Park’s and like a moth to a flame I was guided to the glowing glory that is Target.

So basically you go down the escalators and to the right is a grocery:

“And sitting next to me on the bus, with his arms loaded with Rhodos. I wish we could chip in and get this guy a patch at the local community garden, anyone? It’s sad. He obviously likes plants and needs a better way of making a living.”

In 2013 the thief made it into the New York Times. In 2016 the thief may or may not have been arrested. In 2019 the saga continues.

UPDATE: Arrests made. MPD investigating a series of robberies that occurred 5-6pm in Cleveland Park, Tenleytown and Friendship Heights

“I am pleased to announce that we made two arrests in reference to the two robberies and the two attempt robberies (and a theft from a CVS) that occurred yesterday. I don’t yet have all the information, but the arrests close the following:

Robbery (attempt) 3859 Gramercy Street NW 3/19/2019
Robbery (snatch) 4001 Brandywine Street NW 3/19/2019
Robbery ( attempt) 3801 Connecticut Ave NW 3/19/2019
Theft II 3327 Connecticut Ave NW 3/19/2019”

“The Metropolitan Police Department Second District is currently investigating a series of robberies that occurred on yesterday evening, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 between 5pm and 6pm:
