From a press release:
“City Ridge’s joint venture partners, Roadside Development and North America Sekisui House, LLC (NASH), announced that Chef Michael Mina’s MINA Group will open two new dining concepts within the heart of the highly-anticipated, 10-acre neighborhood in early 2023. Known in DC as the creator of Bourbon Steak, and across the globe for award-winning culinary experiences that span from Las Vegas to Dubai, Michael Mina will make his return to the district at City Ridge. With him, Mina brings decades of experience serving patrons at more than 40 restaurants around the world including several U.S. presidents, and numerous accolades including a Michelin star and several James Beard Foundation Awards.
“We’ve spent the last couple of years at MINA Group focused on developing new dining concepts that are fresh and interesting and then finding the right partners for them,” said Chef Michael Mina. “City Ridge is one of the most exciting new developments to come to the DC area in recent years and we are thrilled to be able to introduce a new MINA Group restaurant to the neighborhood.”
On the ground floor of 14 Ridge Square NW, City Ridge’s central hub, MINA Group will open a “fattoria-to-table” restaurant, sourcing fresh ingredients for dishes and cocktails for City Ridge’s residents, office tenants and visitors to enjoy. The concept will span 7,815 square feet and plans to open in early 2023. 14 Ridge Square will also house CAVA Group Inc.’s new headquarters, Industrious coworking and a 30,000-square-foot Equinox. On Friday we posted a petition pleading for the “practice of live sandwich making to the DC Wegmans.” And soon it shall be – update from the fine folks at Wegmans:
“We are planning on having a made-to-order sub shop station at the Wisconsin Ave store. In fact, we have been planning on it for a bit but were unable to get equipment and fixtures in time for opening. Based on what our vendors have told us, we hope to have everything in place in the next few months. (more…)

Thanks to Nathalia for sending: “Just walked through, casual fife/drum. New Wegmans…being extra.”

Well my friends, I got a sneak a peek of the holy land – D.C.’s first Wegmans! And there are no words. Well there’s actual a huge fact sheet which I’ll include below. I also took a bunch of photos of the 84,000 sq. ft. Shangri-La. Since the store is opening on Wednesday it wasn’t fully stocked but the photos will give you a good snapshot of what’s to be. (more…)

Yesterday we learned where the Taco Bamba is coming and here’s where the Tatte is coming (across the street from the Wegmans.)
