From the U.S. Capitol Police:

“The United States Capitol Police is aware of concerning online chatter about a demonstration planned for September 18.

“We are here to protect everyone’s First Amendment right to peacefully protest,” said Chief Tom Manger. “I urge anyone who is thinking about causing trouble to stay home. We will enforce the law and not tolerate violence.”

Today the Capitol Police Board approved a plan to temporarily put up a fence around the Capitol Building. When the inner-perimeter fence was taken down in July, USCP leaders noted that from time to time, they may exercise the ability to enhance security around the Capitol Complex. (more…)

We had a street art pony named Blondie chained to an original hitching post on Capitol Hill on the 400 block of 6th Street SE and over the weekend it was stolen. The pony delighted all the kids (plus adults) in the neighborhood and we are hoping we can shame the thieves into returning her, or at least make sure they don’t do it again. (more…)

“Far right extremist groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are planning to attend a rally later this month [September 18th] at the U.S. Capitol that is designed to demand “justice” for the hundreds of people who have been charged in connection with January’s insurrection, according to three people familiar with intelligence gathered by federal officials.

As a result, U.S. Capitol Police have been discussing in recent weeks whether the large perimeter fence that was erected outside the Capitol after January’s riot will need to be put back up, the people said.”

Can you do a follow up on the “Suspects Sought in Kidnapping while Armed (Gun) Offenses in the Third and Fourth Districts”?

I found someone’s phone in front of my house (14th and Allison St NW). It turned out to be a neighbor who was jumped, kidnapped and taken to different ATMs to get money out.

This happened Thursday morning, 1:09 am, my Nest doorbell captured it.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating suspects in connection to Kidnapping while Armed (Gun) offenses that occurred in the First, Third and Fourth Districts.
