Commenters to the original GDoN post called this one. At $1.4M, it was ahead of the market. The property ultimately settled for 76% of the original list price.

Including this transaction, there have been a total of eight properties sold over $1M in Brookland. One even exceeded the $1.4M price point (Listing agents for that 2016 sale were Shemaya Klar and Jake Abbott with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty, and Robert Sanders with TTR Sotheby’s International Realty brought the buyer).

The Bakers’ Lounge website says:

“Since 1960, the tradition of baking pastries from scratch has continued with The Bakers’ Lounge. Our Creative Director, Catherine Cotay, was taught by her grandmother inside of her English bakery – The View. The View was located on 45 Fortstreet and was regarded as one of the finest bakeries with a range of speciality items to include wedding cakes and pastries. Catherine, a graduate of Greenwich University, remains passionate about creating an experience that makes our customers ” taste the difference”.”

“5D is currently investigating a shooting that took place in the 1800 block of Perry St., NE. Officers responded for the sounds of gunshots at approximately 9:16 pm. Upon arriving on the scene, Officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound, conscious and breathing. Officers rendered immediate medical care to the victim by applying a tourniquet.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. It was reported that a black Cadillac Escalade was observed leaving the area.

Executive Chef of Rosario and Smoke & Barrel in Adams Morgan, Logan McGear, had also become executive chef of Meridian Pint in Columbia Heights and Brookland Pint in Edgewood. Kidding, kidding – it’s proper Brookland.

McGear notes his role at “Rosario and Smoke & Barrel will remain the same as I take on the roll of Executive Chef at all 4 restaurants.” Looking forward to seeing some menu changes coming to the Pints.
