“The same volunteer crew that brings you Adams Morgan Day each September will host the Adams Morgan Holiday Market, a pop-up style market from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9, on SunTrust plaza and at Unity Park, near 18thStreet and Columbia Road NW. The holiday market will feature more than 50 local, high-quality arts and crafts vendors from across DC with unique gift items, jewelry, pottery, paintings and textiles.
While folks are shopping they’ll enjoy lively seasonal entertainment and, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Dec. 8th, can help decorate the Festivus kiosk at 18thand Columbia. Carolers will sing during the market and, on Sunday Dec. 9, the District Music Project will perform a 20-minute holiday program three times on the front steps of the Line Hotel at 2:30 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I don’t know if anyone else was around/saw but by the Adams Morgan McDonald’s about 30 minutes ago [around 1:15pm] a man randomly stripped down naked and started sprinting throughout the intersection of 18th and Columbia. Anyone else see that or used to seeing that? He headed up Calvert St I believe, left all his clothes right at the front door of the McDonalds and didn’t come back.”
Update from MPD:
“MPD received several calls about this individual and eventually located him in the 1500 block of 14th Street NW, where he was detained by MPD officers and transported to an area hospital for evaluation. It is believed that he was in the midst of a mental health crisis or narcotics-related reaction. We thank the community for contacting 911 to alert us of the situation.”

In that time, the space at 2427 18th Street NW transformed into Seasons & Sessions, with a brand-new dining area, reimagined bar/performance space, and a new third floor arcade. “As many of you already know, Tom Marmet, the son of Roger Marmet – one of Roofers Union’s owners – Roger Marmet, was killed in a senseless act of gun violence on October 24th, 2018. Tom was driving home from his fellowship as a social worker at SOME (So Others Might Eat) and hit by gunfire when he passed an alley in the Trinidad neighborhood. Tom, 22, was a great young man who I had the fortune of watching grow up as he worked with us at Ripple Wine Bar when school allowed.
We are all extremely saddened by this loss and find ourselves looking for ways to speak and act out against senseless gun violence in DC. First on the agenda, will be over Thanksgiving weekend (11/23-11/25) when Roofers Union will dedicate the weekend as a benefit to Tom Marmet and all the other victims of gun violence in DC. On Friday November 23rd, we will be joined by many Tom’s friends and representatives from Everytown for Gun Safety. (more…)
