“Dear PoPville,
Alright everyone, I’m taking bets. How many days until there’s hot water again? I pay $70 a month for a basic gym membership at Washington Sports Club in Columbia Heights.
Day #3: They’ve printed new signs – impressive. Real progress over here at WSC Columbia Heights
Day #5: I really want to talk about “heavy volume of use.” This gym is in a city center – you advertise nonstop going into the New Year and then fail miserably to serve new members.
I’d like to note the staff are wonderful, competent people but the institution could be doing more to service their regular customers who are getting price gouged due to lack of competition (i.e. basic operational functions).”
Ed. Note WSC replied: “We’re very sorry for the inconvenience but we assure you we’re doing all we can at the moment.”

Urban Athletic Club offers neighborhood Memberships, Group Classes, Personal Training, and Community classes. Also, keep an eye out for a run club, roof-top yoga, and BYOB bike classes (that’s bike, not beer!).
