Ed. Note: Let’s be honest – sometimes people are assholes. This is one of those times. Let’s take this opportunity to remind ourselves not to be one. Also don’t take photos of people working out at the gym. Thanks.

“Dear PoPville,

I need some advice. I’m on the hunt for a new gym after an incident at the Thomas Circle Balance. To make a long story short, a member was taking creep shots of me and posting them on a public Instagram with captions mocking me. Ed. Note: I saw the photos before they were switched to private and can confirm what OP says. The owners asked the member to move to a different location for a few weeks after I brought this to their attention, but now they’ve let the member back in the gym and are asking me to move my workouts to a different location instead if I’m still uncomfortable. The Instagram is still up; it’s just private now. Needless to say, I’m really upset about the lack of consequences so I’m looking for a new gym. Anyone know a good gym around Logan Circle/Shaw/Chinatown that doesn’t tolerate stuff like this? I’m at my wit’s end. Thanks in advance for the help!!”

Thanks to a number of readers for passing on from Tranquil Space:

“I’m writing to share some big news. As of August 29th, both Tranquil Space studios will become part of the growing YogaWorks family of 52 studios across the country. I realize this might be surprising and want to share why I made this decision and what happens next. (more…)

Ed. Note: Also looks like the fountains are finally back on again!

From an email:

“On Saturday, June 3, MINT Gym and Studio is hosting a FREE outdoor bootcamp at Meridian Hill Park at 10:30 a.m., taught by our infamous Liz Harvey. It’s going to be a crazy and engaging “power playground” event that focuses on both strength and cardio. Sign up via this Eventbrite link, since the event is being held on National Park grounds and we must keep our records straight.”
