“Dear PoPville,
The Safeway on 14th St SE has started not only closing, but physically blocking one of their main entrances. I get wanting to close an entrance during non-peak periods to avoid the need for a security guard, but this is happening at 5 o’clock on a weeknight and they’re actually putting obstacles (shopping carts, boxes, etc…pic is just one recent example) in front of the doors. What if there’s a fire or shooting and people need to escape quickly? Isn’t this a fire issue?”

Thanks to Stef for sending from the Florida Ave Whole Foods:

“Dear PoPville,

All sales from the bags, selling for $3.99 each, will be donated to Martha’s Table and will go to support the Joyful Food Markets, no-cost pop-up markets working to increase food access in more than 50 schools in Wards 7 & 8.”
