I’ve admired this garden for many years now (and featured elements of it numerous times). I imagine I’ll be featuring this garden, located at 16th & V Streets, NW every spring that I run this blog. Anyway, I was complementing the owner (seen in the background) and he told me why the pond was originally put in:

He said that people used to cut across the yard all the time so they installed the pond. That cracks me up because it looks so perfectly planned.
Looking at the before and after pictures are the best. If you have a garden you’d like to submit please email me directly.

Due to yesterday’s tech problems I’m gonna show two gardens today. Above is from a reader who took it on S Street, NW just east of 18th. And below are some great flowers I took from Monroe Street, NW just east of 16th.
Ed. Note: Let me take this opportunity to thank my IT guy who worked until 4am last night fixing some of the tech problems. I’d also like to thank all the PoPville Twitter followers who offered to help me. The site should be mostly back to normal now and next week I’ll be uploading photos directly so those who have flickr blocked at work shouldn’t notice it anymore. Knock wood, knock wood.

I saw a few front yards this weekend that were nearly completely filled flowers.

I thought these shrubs were wild. They were sculpted meticulously. Anyone know what kind of shrub/plant it is?

I didn’t think I’d post another GotD until the Spring but I loved this double level pond.

This great Zen garden is located near 16th Street and Colorado Ave, NW.

Great wild garden here but of course the fence is one of the best in town (from Mt. Pleasant).

This great one is in Adams Morgan on Adams Mill Road towards the back of the zoo. I remember this one from last year, they did an equally great job this year.
