“The DC Tool Library is run by volunteers and consists mostly of tools donated by members or the community. The library offers tools to help with construction, gardening, camping, and homesteading.”

I wanted to share with you the sad news that our local DC Tool Library branch at Twin Oaks was recently burglarized several times (escalating over the course of a week) and over $10K worth of tools were stolen. “Dear PoPville,

A group of us working in DC’s food & beverage community (HAAPI DC) are hosting a Lunar New Year celebration at Lost Generation.

The event will include: unlimited drinks, small bites from your favorite local chefs (Justin Ahn of Incheon, Erik Bruner-Yang of Maketto, Tim Ma of Any Day Now, and more), and a lion dance performance!

Through the generosity of our hosts and partners, we’re donating all of the proceeds raised by the tickets to the 1882 Foundation, which is working to revitalize DC’s Chinatown as a cultural hub.

His roommate pressed on his wound and called 911, however Ryan died shortly after at a local hospital. (more…)

Ana via GoFundMe

“Dear PoPville,

Our babysitter/nanny Ana cares for what seems to be half of the kids we know in Capitol Hill. She had a stroke recently, and although she is recovering, her recovery is impacting her ability to work as a nanny. We’d be grateful if you would help spread the word to the broader DC community so that she can get through this recovery period and get back on her feet.”
