Anacostia River Festival 341 – NPS Credit

“We are thrilled to announce the return of the Anacostia River Festival on Sunday, April 17 from 1 – 5PM in Anacostia Park, a premier event and official closing program of the National Cherry Blossom Festival! This year’s festival celebrates “connecting people to parks” in recognition of the National Park Service’s Centennial celebration. Activities include: kayaking, boating, fishing workshops, hands-on art projects, musical performances, bike parades, and other unique programs engaging families with the river, its history and ecology. Held in Anacostia Park, this FREE event will encourage District residents and tourists alike to explore communities and parks east of the river.
When: Sunday, April 17, 2016; 1 pm – 5 pm
Where: National Park Service’s Anacostia Park. Good Hope Road and Anacostia Drive SE
Who: FREE and open to the public.
The Anacostia River Festival is presented by the National Park Service and the 11th Street Bridge Park in partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival.”

“Black Jack will mark Mardi Gras with four days of festivities beginning on Saturday, February 6 culminating in a festive, New Orleans-style celebration on Tuesday, February 9. Guests will be made to feel as if they’re on Bourbon Street as the space will be transformed with elaborate carnival decorations, transporting patrons to the French Quarter, and the regular food and drink menu will change for the four-day period featuring Cajun-style classics. “we are putting together a very unique event for Valentine’s Day: a first of its kind Made in DC Sips and Bites – Pairing and Tasting. I promise it to be nothing short of outstanding!
We have brought together over 15 local DC makers in a 4 course fixed pairing menu. Local purveyors include Atlas Brew Works, Baku Beverage, Capital Kombucha, Compass Coffee, Dangerously Delicious Pies, DC Brau, Element Shrub, Gordy’s Pickle Jar, Harper Macaw, Leonora Bakery (Northside Social), On Rye, Pie Sisters, True Tonics, Red Apron, Sona Creamery, and wines provided by Schneider’s of Capitol Hill. Decorations will be idealized by Capitol Romance.
We created this event with the intention of doing something outside the box from the traditional Valentines event. Not only will it be something innovative and creative for couples, but it is an event that friends and singles will enjoy just as much.
We will hold the event at 3 different times. Tickets are $100, but for the first 20 of each slot we reserved an Early Bird special of $85.
