From Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton’s office:

“Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today introduced a bill to sell the RFK stadium site, unused federal land, to the District of Columbia for fair market value. Currently, the RFK stadium site, which is 190 acres, is the largest track of unused land in the District. Norton’s work in making land owned or controlled by the federal government available to the District has been essential in revitalizing D.C. neighborhoods, such as the Wharf, the Capitol Riverfront, and Walter Reed. “Dear Popville, do you know the story about this building at 14th and Parkwood? Construction stopped years ago (on google map time lapse you can see construction started in 2014, and it’s been sitting like this since 2016). In an otherwise rapidly renovated area, why is this frozen in time? Wondering if it violates the height restriction because the door appears to be on the smaller street of Parkwood rather than on 14th. Does anyone know the story? Will it remain like this forever?”

14th and Decatur Street, NW

“Dear PoPville,

WMATA will be closing the bus barn on 14th St. between Decatur and Buchannan in fall 2019 and rebuilding the barn to include 55,000 sq ft of retail and public parking. It is scheduled to open in 2024. There is a community meeting at the barn on Monday, March 11 6:30 pm with WMATA and Brandon Todd. It would be great to expand this discussion.”
