Do your readers have any recommendations for “other” Christmas and holiday displays, besides the White House or Capitol? I want to travel around the District and find some new displays, like the one at City Center.”

The permanent closing of the Temple Heights branch Post Office in Dupont Circle at 1921 Florida Ave NW has been postponed to mid January. The building it is in is being renovated and they are not planning to reopen a Temple Heights branch post office there or anywhere else. (more…)

I know I can’t be the only person in this city full of rowhouses-split-into-condos that has an awkward staircase and a need to find creative ways to get big furniture into the house, so I’m asking for advice/recommendations. Myself, along with several other residents have been really frustrated with the flood lights that Nats park has recently started to turns on at all hours of the night and day. Despite putting blinds down the lights are so strong that they still come through and are affected sleep. See pic below(and doesn’t even do justice). (more…)
