I just witnessed (12:52pm) a large purple dump truck driving erratically near Med Star/Children’s Hospital heading eastbound on Michigan Ave NW. The driver of the dump truck refused to stay in its lane and crossed over the lane line to hit the car in front of me (a silver SUV of some kind). The truck was not trying to change lanes but was swerving all over the two eastbound lanes. The dump truck honked at the car it hit and drove away without stopping. (more…)

From NE area and our neighbors and I are having a problem with someone parking their fed government car on our street then hoping back in their personal vehicle (with out of states tags) and leaving. The person does not live in the neighborhood, and the vehicle is left for weeks sometime months in the same spot with no movement. (more…)

Without warning, DDOT removed a dying tree from our tree box and in the process destroyed the brickwork that bordered the tree box area. This brickwork design is used for all the tree boxes along the 1000 k st ne block. A previous resident paid for all these designs. (more…)

We have solar power and produce more than we use. There is some meter glitch with Pepco and they started sending backdated bills for estimated usage (pre-solar!) a couple of weeks ago in excess of $500. Can your readers help advise?”

I have a 5 year old son with special needs. We had his IEP meeting August 9th where he was switched from a general classroom to a special education classroom. We were told that DC would be in touch with telling us his placement of school, since our local neighborhood school does not have special ed classrooms. Today is 8/29, the 4th day of school – and my kiddo still does not have a placement. (more…)

Last night there was a “safety check” (Tues 8/27 starting around 8:30pm) on Georgia Avenue at Dahlia St. There’s at least 15 police cars, tow truck, paddy wagon, and they are funneling everyone into single lane northbound and southbound to check cars. Cops said it was a safety check, but otherwise don’t have any more information.” (more…)
