For several reasons, I don’t think they’re necessary and of course, I don’t like the way they look or how they’d prevent escape in the event of a fire. I’m looking for a bar or restaurant in DC proper where I can host an event (about 20-30 people) in the next few weeks. Ideally, this place would have covered outdoor space but we are open to other options and willing to be flexible. The main thing is that we do not want to be charged a rental fee for the use of the space or have a bar minimum. Understandably, I may be hunting for a unicorn but figured it was worth asking the community in the event they knew of a business that we could support and that would love to host us.”

I served on a jury for 6 weeks in 2020 and just got a summons to report again for duty. I understand in DC it’s every 2 years, but shouldn’t it be longer for people who actually sat through a trial?“

Looking for advice on what to do after a parking ticket is sent to collections. I received a ticket in June, contested it using the Ticket Alert Service, registered for all alerts regarding this ticket, and never heard anything. I checked the Ticket Alert Service website several times since then and never saw any movement. Today, I received a Delinquency Notification from Harris & Harris, Ltd. notifying me that they were collecting the payment (plus a fine). (more…)
