I’m wondering if the community knows how to opt out of physical mailings from DC election campaigns. I turn to online sources for information about candidates so the physical mail is an unnecessary and unsustainable source. Google hasn’t gotten me far, so any tips would be appreciated.”

On Fridays my husband and I often like to take my toddler out around his dinner time and our HH time. We also like to do breakfast or lunch out on the weekend. “Dear PoPville,

I wanted to shout out an incredibly patient and kind UPS delivery driver who had to deal with a staggeringly stubborn, entitled, and unkind woman holding up traffic on the 1700 block of Euclid on Tuesday evening at about 6pm. It’s a two-way street (that should really be one-way) and she refused to drive past his truck, despite there being ample room to pass and many offers from the driver and passerby to help her do so (there was also a parking spot she could have backed into). What’s happening to Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park? This beautiful and unique urban park has been largely closed for over a year. While the National park service is having repairs done to the lower plaza, the rest of the park is open but severely neglected. Walkways are crumbling, weeds are growing out of control. The fountain is again turned off and getting overgrown.”

I acquired a three-drawer dresser last year that turned out to be far older than I thought (I’m talking vintage metal drawer pulls, wooden tracks for the drawers, dovetail joints). I can’t refinish or refurbish it, so I’d really like to find someone who could put some time and work into this. (more…)
