“Dear PoPville,
My spouse was attacked at the corner of I street SE and New Jersey Ave SE by whole foods yesterday (Thurs.) afternoon. He was riding his bike and the driver hit him in the face with a metal water bottle that she threw at him, then reversed into him and tried to run him over before leaving. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
Oh my god the same thing happened to me on H Street/union station with someone with a similar description (short twist braids, but a bit taller, I’d guess around 5’10”). Sunday around 2:45 pm. Was transferring from the metro to streetcar so exiting the back entrance to union station. He pushed me to the ground so hard I broke my wrist and I’m now in a cast! I called the police and they arrested him. It’s uncanny bc he said something similar to the cops about how I was the one walking aggressively towards him and deserved it. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I’m wondering if others in the community are noticing an increase in dead mice and rats laying on the sidewalk — I’m around Dupont/Mt Pleasant/Admo, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I counted 11(!) booted cars this morning between N Capitol and Tuckerman and N Capitol and Van Buren Streets yesterday morning. And at lunchtime, there are 3 tow trucks in the area towing booted cars away. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for five years and have never seen parking enforcement near our house. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I wanted to send this as a sort of community warning to folks. Yesterday, 8/31, I was assaulted while walking in Mount Pleasant just before 6pm. I was headed East on Irving St between Mt. Pleasant and 16th St and a man going the other direction was very intentionally walking down the middle of the sidewalk. When I tried to get out of his way and pass around him, he sped up and very deliberately went toward me- I tried even more to get out of his way by angling my body as close to the other direction as possible. Before I could process what was happening, he bodyslammed me into the fence so hard I lost my footing and nearly fell over. I was shoved both into the fence and into the older woman walking just behind me. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I went out for a walk on Wednesday 8/31 and dropped my wallet (a red cardholder) without noticing. As I was returning to my apartment building, the front desk called to say that a kind woman (who was out walking her dog) found it on the sidewalk in Kalorama and (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I was at the Logan Circle South Block waiting outside for a pick up order yesterday (Tuesday) at 11:15am. I was parked illegally in my work “Toastworthy” truck. A super cute guy parked behind me, also illegally. We kept watching our cars and started chatting. He was nice and complimented my pick up. There were good vibes. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I am a resident here (flats 130 in NoMa), and posters have gone up everywhere since our building made an announcement (I’ve seen three different ones since last night) – our building is trying to tell us we can no longer have our packages delivered to our actual physical address. they have to be delivered to a “fetch address” which is a warehouse, and then you schedule a delivery time. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
Is it just me, or is it every time that I get to a station for a transfer (Fort Totten, L’Enfant, Metro Center, Chinatown), the connecting train is already there. But they never wait. It’s like they see another train coming, and they’re just like, NOPE, now we’re in a hurry and have a schedule to keep. (more…)
