“Dear PoPville,

I’m a resident in an apartment building that is right by Gonzaga’s parking lot, and on my walk home yesterday I heard what I came to find was a kidnapping in the parking lot around 4:30PM. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I just celebrated one year postpartum after having a rough delivery and preemie in the NICU, and I’d like to commemorate this with some (real) self-care. I’d love to do something restorative like a weekend in Yogaville [Ed. Note: No relation to PoPville] but that’s less than a 2 hour drive from DC. I’m looking for a place/experience that is in nature, offers yoga, meditation, maybe some art therapy? Help a mama out!”

According to our maintenance man, it’s the second week in a row DC sanitation has done this. The excuse? “Not enough manpower, not enough trucks.” This was the answer provided by DC Sanitation worker.”

“here’s the old sign and the new sign, not more than five or six car lengths apart”

“Dear PoPville,

So a DDOT truck drove up in front of my house today and put up some new parking signs in spots that I guess have been in need of them. Great! Hooray for infrastructure!

Except when they left, I noticed that the signs read “2 hour parking—Zone 4A permit holders excepted.”

Which is interesting, because I and my neighbors all have “zone 4” parking stickers…and the EXISTING signs at the end of my block say “Zone 4,” NOT “Zone 4A.” (more…)
