Back in April we learned Le Mirch would be opening up in the former Dalchinni Indian Restaurant space at 1736 Connecticut Ave, NW next to Bistro Du Coin.

A readers sends this interesting update:

I don’t know what’s happened since then but it looks like a disaster! The official sign now says “Indie Cusine” — whatever that means and there’s a homemade sign that reads “Come in for FREE champagne.”

Sadly that’s not the only sign fail:

But I guess we shouldn’t argue with free champagne…

The Lamb Sandwich Makes a Special Appearance
Tuesday, June 4th – Sunday, June 9th

Every so often, there comes a dish that becomes synonymous with the restaurant that serves it. McDonald’s has the Big Mac…Momofuku has its cereal milk…for 1905, it was the infamous Lamb Sandwich. We are constantly asked when, or if, it will ever be reinstated on the menu, so we thought we’d do something extra special for the LS Fans among you. Once a quarter, for one week only, Chef Joel Hatton and the culinary team at 1905 will reprise the popular menu item, complete with Asiago cheese bread, lamb jus and side salad for $18.

Anyone ever try it before?

We are proud to announce the opening of Capitol Prague Restaurant on Tuesday, May 28, 2013! A little corner of Central Europe on bustling M Street in Georgetown, Capitol Prague Restaurant offers a Czech & Slovak-inspired fare infused by a rich heritage of the Habsburgs. A revival of an old empire cuisine blends aromas of fresh herbs, smoked meats, homemade pastries and lost culinary wonders of the old continent. For those craving an authentic Czech meal, we have a great selection of traditional entrees, including svíčková, halušky, or vepřo-knedlo-zelo. We also serve a refreshing array of salads, appetizers, fish and vegetarian options – all infused by a wonderful and authentic taste of Europe.

And, traditional Czech beer (with as much foam as possible)! Along with Czechvar Lager on tap, we are proudly serving an unpasteurized and unfiltered draught beer, lager and dark, from Kout na Šumave! For wine lovers, we have an eclectic collection of wine that will make you dream about those winding cobblestone streets of Prague. And finally, we offer homemade sweets, pastries and other delicacies of Europe, including apple and sweet cheese strudel, which makes indulgence simple yet unforgettable!

We are open now for happy hour (5-7pm) and dinner (7-10pm) Monday through Friday, and for brunch on Saturday-Sunday (10am-4pm).

Adjacent to our restaurant is CAPITOL PRAGUE CAFÉ, a small European café featuring illy coffee, homemade pastries and sweet delicacies of Old Europe, and other refreshments. Capitol Prague Café is open daily from 8am-8pm.

From a press release:

On Wednesday, May 29, Del Campo, Chef Victor Albisu’s young Penn Quarter restaurant, opened its Asado Bar. Guests seated at the nine-seat counter overlooking the open kitchen window will be offered a pair of fixed-price menus that showcase the true art of the South American grill. The first menu is a $77, four-course exploration of the Asado tradition that offers a variety of grilled, smoked and burnt meat and seafood. For $42, the vegetarian menu gives diners a taste of the many ways smoke and char enhance and add flavor to vegetables, bread, cheese and fruit.

Reservations are available only via phone at 202-289-7377
Both menus are available online.
Wine pairings for both menus are available for $22

Del Campo debuted its patio seating earlier this week. Both the happy hour and dinner menus are available at the 40-seat space, which opens with the restaurant at 5:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
