From a press release:

“Vinoteca’s “Hot Dogs & Bubbly” and “Burger & Beer” combos were such a hit
last year, they’re returning in an even more fun way on Thursday nights: Adult Kids Meals. Appealing to the inner child in everyone, the playful combos will pair either a house made hot dog with glass of sparkling wine, or a burger with draft beer; plus a side of house made chips, and everyone’s favorite part of a kids’ meal – the “toy” – will be a pair of Vinoteca-branded wayfarer-style shades to sport around the Plaza, all for only $11.

Available every Thursday from 5 p.m. to close, guests can mix and match their own combos – which might range from a boudin pork red onion-topped Who Dat Doggy paired with a glass of house sparkling wine, to an O.G. Bocce beef burger with basil aioli and fresh mozzarella paired with a Lagunitas IPA. Each entrée and drink pairing come with a side of house made potato chips, and a pair of stylish Vinoteca sunglasses.

Adult Kids Meals will be $11 and only be available Thursday evenings from 5 p.m. to close.”

From an email:

“Del Campo’s $12 lunch deal

Last year, Del campo launched patio season with its Street Food Fridays promotion. This year, the restaurant is one again highlighting street food with a lunch deal available on the patio and at the bar. Diners can order any of Del Campo’s sandwiches (yes, even the chivito) with a glass of house wine or a beer for $12. The $12 lunch deal is available Monday-Friday from 11:30am-2:30pm.

Argentinian Pizza and the Patio Pisco Bar

On May 21, Del Campo’s wood fired ovens will begin turning out Argentinian style pizzas. The new menu item is a South American favorite that will be a new look for area pizza lovers. The square pies will rage in price from $18 to $22 and feature styles like smoked tomato & mortadella, fugassa (a white pizza with onion, and chorizo & burnt rapini.

Coinciding with the launch of pizza service, Del Campo will be opening a satellite bar on its patio with a focus on pisco. Open on Thursdays through Labor Day, the Del Campo Patio Pisco bar will serve the restaurant’s many excellent pisco cocktails as well as pisco tasting flights that will highlight the breadth and depth of the South American spirit. The Patio Pisco Bar will be open Thursdays from 5pm till close.”

Thanks to a reader for passing on this interesting marketing material for the corner of 12th and Otis St, NE in Brookland from JBGR retail.

According to the document Ledo Pizza is on board for the new development. The location is not yet listed on Ledo’s website but you can see their menu here.

UPDATE: Since @LedoPizza favorited the tweet about coming to Brookland – I take that as a very good sign they’re coming!

UPDATE 2: Sadly a rep from Ledo Pizza writes:

“We don’t have any plans right now for that site. Although, reading through the comments, a Brewery/Ledo Pizza sounds Awesome! We were looking at the space in March last year but things fell through. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything in the pipeline for Brookland right now.”

@barredindc tweets us this morning:

“Did @takeateasydc close on M St NW? From original Fast Gourmet guys-opened just 15 months ago.”

Certainly looks like it. Their phone number listed on their facebook page has been disconnected and the page itself hasn’t been updated since Feb.

TakEatEasy opened up in the former China Cafe space at 1990 M Street, NW back in Feb. 2013.

Tony’s Breakfast

“Dear PoPville,

I was just looking into going to Tony’s on H st and to my surprise they have a website. On the site it reads

“Tony’s Breakfast Has Moved Months Ago from 1401 H Street to 1387 H Street!
Vist the One & Only Authentic Tony’s • Not Affiliated with Tony’s Place @ 1401 H Street”.

I thought they moved across the street temporarily? I know they recently moved during some sort of remodel and that both were open. But separate entities? Huh?”
