Back in April we saw a permit for a fast food restaurant in the former oxxo drycleaners space next to Sticky Fingers. Turns out it will be Shanghai Tokyo Cafe:

IMG_7487

Their website says:

“Opened in 2011, Shanghai Tokyo is the brainchild of Joe Chen, a life-long restaurateur with over 25 years of experience in the food service industry. The family-friendly environment is a choice Joe made because he wants everyone that visits Shanghai Tokyo to feel as comfortable dining with their family, as he does with his.

Every detail is well thought out, from every meal’s ingredients, to the atmosphere provided for his patrons. Joe wants Shanghai Tokyo to be your first choice for College Park restaurants, and will always make the effort to gain your trust and satisfaction.”

Check out their College Park menu here: ShanghaiTokyo_menu (PDF)

Coming this summer. Stay tuned.

boss burgers

Back in March we noted that Black and Orange would become Boss Burgers. Don’t know about the burgers but I like the outdoor seating they’ve added.

Anyone try a burger yet? Depending on how good your eyes are, you can peep the menu here:

3322 Georgia Ave, NW

A reader reports:

“Just passed by the 3300 block of Georgia Ave., and the sign for the new Panamanian restaurantEsencias” is up, as well as a sign for a new place across the street called “Joselyn” which looks to be an Italian/Latin place (though also billed as a “bar/lounge” so not sure what the actual nature of it will be). With Colony Club in full swing and Heat Da Spot about to open, it’s nice to see the storefronts on this stretch of Georgia in Park View filling in.”

Ed. Note: Agreed!
