From the Mayor’s Office:

“Mayor Bowser and DC Health are announcing new vaccine clinics open to all DC residents between the ages of 12 and 18. As the District prepares to close high-capacity walk-up vaccination sites on July 17, DC Health will continue to provide targeted vaccination opportunities to the community, beginning with these new vaccine clinics at six DC Public Schools. The clinics are open to all District youth, not just DCPS students. As adjustments are made to vaccination sites, residents are also reminded that they can find opportunities to claim their free COVID-19 vaccine, including at pharmacies and clinics across all eight wards, by going to vaccines.gov.

The initial schedule for school-based COVID-19 vaccine clinics is listed below. (more…)

From DDOT:

“he District Department of Transportation (DDOT) launched ParkDC Permits, a new, centralized system for DC residents in Residential Permit Parking (RPP) Zones and their visitors to manage visitor, temporary, home health aide, and contractor parking permits via a single online portal.

Residents and their visitors can use the portal to set up their ParkDC Permits accounts and to issue and receive permits to legally park in RPP zones. ParkDC Permits combines the Annual Visitor Parking Pass and Temporary (15 day) Parking Permits. The new system allows unlimited use by one visitor at a time and additional permits when a resident has two or more visitors. Residents in RPP Zones across all eight wards will have access to the system and visitor parking privileges. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Construction contractors renovating a building on 13th Street NW in Columbia Heights have left equipment — particularly a pile of sheet rock — in a Zone 1 parking space for over a week now. Meanwhile, there’s ample space to stack the supplies in the building’s (mostly flat) front yard, so I’m not certain why they’re leaving it in the street. (more…)

Thanks to Jonathan for sending: “I noticed the new painted bike lanes on 17th NW south of Mass Ave.”

Looking good!

Related, from the Mayor’s Office:

“Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser was joined by community members and District government leaders to highlight her significant investments in providing infrastructure and mobility improvements in neighborhoods across all eight wards. “Today, following President Biden’s announcement about Fourth of July fireworks on the National Mall, Mayor Bowser echoed the President’s enthusiasm and called on Americans nationwide to celebrate the holiday in Washington, DC. The announcement comes just days after DC fully reopened, lifting capacity limits as residents and workers continue to be vaccinated and health metrics continue to improve.

“DC is open and ready to welcome back visitors to celebrate the way we came together as a city and as a nation this year. We have shown once again that when we come together, there is nothing we can’t do,” said Mayor Bowser. “We thank President Biden and his team for acting with urgency to get the vaccine to the American people so that we could save lives, get our country open, and celebrate together once again.”

After making incredible progress with getting Americans vaccinated and getting the nation back open for business, President Biden announced today that he will host essential workers and military families on the South Lawn to celebrate the Fourth of July.
