Ed. Note: We recently spoke about walk in hours at the DMV here.

Thanks to Alex for sending the video of the line from Sunday: “Things are going great at the Southwest DMV…..”

Another reader asks:

“Do you know what’s up with the DC visitor parking permit program? I can’t get an appointment at the DMV (backlogged for eternity) and the visitor parking system went digital and my building is no longer zoned into the program.

I’m super worried about getting towed and don’t want to pay the hefty parking fee that my building has. Do you have any tips about how to get a residential parking permit w out of state plates?? Many thanks in advance!!”

Ed. Note: Today the mayor’s office released:

The DMV will return to full walk-ins only on for Adjudication Services on July 19, and for all Service Centers on July 20 and no appointments will be required. The DMV will also still offer some services remotely. The inspection station remains first come first serve and the OBD kiosk is available 24/7 inspection renewals for vehicle model years 2005 or newer.”

This year’s games will be Saturday, April 27th, 1 PM to 4 PM at SPIN DC. It’ll be a chaotic afternoon of ping-pong, costumes, terrible Battlestar Galactica puns, and good cheer. We’d love to have you join us!
