“this is the scene returning from work today, can’t figure out what is up, walked up to the cops to ask, the said stay away looked like a box cutter on the ground open. This is all of 100 feet from the robbery with gun earlier today, and directly across the street from the homicide at the bus stop earlier this summer, I don’t know how many more times we have to tell them about this corner

A reader reports:

“Man hit in the face with a gun then robbed at gunpoint around noon today on Georgia Ave near Lamont. my wife walked by shortly after it happened then talked to detectives on scene. Police say they are looking for four teenagers. This happened just a couple days ago up the block. Saw the perps steal the bike, called cops.

Saw bike stolen yesterday; met owner, just back from 11 years deployed with Navy; rode it once. Welcome home!

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the Unit block of M Street, Northwest on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at approximately 8:18 pm.

Members of the First District responded to investigate the sounds of gunshots around the unit block of M Street, Northwest. They located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the 1100 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to an area hospital, where lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

An earlier release reported preliminary information that the offense had taken place in the 1100 Block of North Capitol Street, Northwest.

Update:

The decedent has been identified as 28 year-old Kuron Calleo, of Northeast DC.”

“Wanted to alert you to a shooting that just occurred in Mt. Pleasant ~1800 alley between Irving and Harvard. Report is that a man was shot in the neck in his car. The shooter peeled away in a car and the victim apparently drove approximately 40-50 yards before crashing, as shown in the picture.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 1800 block of Harvard Street, Northwest on Friday, September 18, 2015, at approximately 7:44 pm.

Members of the Fourth District responded for the report of a shooting and upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to an area hospital, where lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Charles Antonio Welch, of Fort Washington, Maryland.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”

“The Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced an arrest has been made in multiple Robbery Force and Violence offenses, which occurred on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.

Fifth District Officers responded to a call for a robbery, and upon arrival, located two complainants who reported an assault and robbery in the 200 block of Florida Avenue, NE at approximately 4:00 pm.

Third District Officers responded to a call for a robbery, and upon arrival, located the complainant who reported an assault and robbery in the 400 block of N Street, NW at approximately 4:30 pm.

First District Officers responded to a call for a robbery, and upon arrival, located the complainant who reported an assault and robbery in the 200 block of K Street, NW, at approximately 5:00 pm.

On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, a juvenile male of Northeast, DC was arrested and charged with the robberies. In all of these instances, a group of males assaulted and robbed the complainants. The investigation to determine the identity of the remaining suspects is continuing.”

“Hi-another brazen break in twice I’m one day one block up!!! Break in to basement apt at 15th and Buchanan last night between 12-4am. Computers, bikes, and passports stolen, as people were sleeping in the bedroom.

Police arrived and dusted for prints this morning, but robber returned! Stole another bike, but was identified by a neighbor: middle aged black male wearing a construction outfit in the alley. Suspect then ride off on the stolen bike!

Brazen and very scary!!!!”

“On today’s date at around 12:01AM, two citizens walking northbound in the 900 block of First Street, Northeast, were approached by (2) subjects, (1) of whom attempted to snatch the purse off the citizen’s shoulder. During a struggle for the purse, the citizen was sprayed in the face with mace. The (2) subjects then fled northbound in the block without obtaining the purse.

The responding officers obtained a lookout for the two subjects, and during a canvass, two subjects matching the description provided by the victim and the witness were located a short distance away. Those two subjects were positively identified by the victim, placed under arrest and charged accordingly.”

“At around 5:50 am this morning, MPD responded to the scene of the subject that had been shot. Upon arrival, the victim was found in the 200 block of Varnum Street, NE suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He is currently in stable condition. At this time the only information that we have is a dark colored vehicle may have been involved, no further description has been provided.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in in the 300 block of Franklin Street, Northeast.

On Sunday, May 10, 2015 at approximately 8:00 am, members from the Fifth District responded for the report of a robbery that occurred in the 300 block of Franklin Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, they located the victim who stated he was assaulted and then robbed of US Currency. The victim was transported and admitted to a local hospital for treatment. On Wednesday, September 9, 2015, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The remains of the decedent were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where it was determined that the cause of death was from blunt force trauma and manner of death was ruled a homicide.

The decedent has been identified as 65 year-old Santos Garcia, of no fixed address.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
