“Attorney General Brian L. Schwalb today announced that home renovation company Curbio, Inc. (Curbio) will pay $7.5 million to harmed consumers and the District and will overhaul how it does business in the District and across the country, in order to resolve a 2023 consumer protection lawsuit brought by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG).

I was running on the MBT on Sunday evening – it was broad daylight and the trail was busy – and I witnessed a man on a bicycle assault a solo female jogger. It was terrible. On Sunday 9/1 around 4pm I was walking my dog down Sherrill Drive, a quiet, paved road that connects 16th Street to Beach Drive in the northern park of Rock Creek Park near Brightwood/Takoma. A man with a personal e-scooter was sitting on the wooden guardrail on the edge of the road who I stopped to chat with. Investigator Wayne David

From MPD:

“The Metropolitan Police Department is deeply saddened to announce death of Investigator Wayne David after he was injured attempting to recover a firearm from a storm drain when it discharged.

Other officers immediately began providing care and he was transported by the Metropolitan Police Department’s helicopter to an area hospital, where he later died.

Investigator David is a 25-year veteran of the Metropolitan Police Department. (more…)
