“Dear PoPville,

On Friday, January 10th, an Amazon delivery driver entered a lobby in the 3600 block of Connecticut Avenue, NW, a cooperative residential building. Shortly after, a second Amazon driver followed, taking advantage of the open door. Once the packages were delivered, the second driver lingered behind and texted an accomplice waiting in a car outside. The accomplice then entered the lobby, and together, the pair stole over 10 packages, loading them into the car before fleeing the scene.

MPD reports: “Three officers sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to area hospitals conscious and breathing. One suspect has been pronounced dead.”

A hand grenade was pulled out of the Potomac near Roosevelt Island by magnet fisherman. DC bomb squad and Park Police investigated and have declared it safe.”

“The Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a woman and man in the shooting of a 5-year-old girl in a Southwest apartment.

On Monday, December 16, 2024, at approximately 6:29 p.m., officers responded to the Unit block of Galveston Street, Southwest, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a five-year-old girl inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers quickly provided lifesaving first aid until DC Fire and EMS arrived on the scene and transported the child to a local hospital. The child remains hospitalized for treatment of critical injuries. (more…)
