“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in connection to a homicide that occurred on Monday, November 26, 2018, in the 1800 block of Benning Road, Northeast.

At approximately 1:49 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located two adult male victims, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The first victim displayed no signs consistent with life and remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The second victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The decedent has been identified as 20-year-old Randall Francis, of Southeast, DC.

The suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Malik Morris, of Northeast, DC. He is described as a black male with a medium complexion. Morris is wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for is First Degree Murder While Armed (Premeditated). He can be seen in the photo above. (more…)

“Earlier this evening Fifth District officers responded to a call for sounds of gunshots in the 1800 Block of Kendall St NE. Officers responded to the scene and located an adult male victim suffering from gun-shot wounds to the leg and foot. He was transported to an area hospital and is in serious condition. 5D detectives are handling this investigation. Anyone with any information regarding this offense are urged to contact MPD at 202-727-9099 or text us at 50411.”

“The Third District is currently investigating the sounds of gunshots in the area of 14th Street and Columbia Road NW. At this time, we have not located any shooting victims, but we have found property damage to several vehicles and a building.

Pedestrians and motorists can expect traffic closures in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

“The Third District is currently investigating an assault that occurred in the 1600 block of New Jersey Avenue, NW. The victim has been transported to the hospital for medical treatment. The assault occurred inside of a residence so there should be no interruption of traffic flow in the area.

“On Monday November 26, 2018, at approximately 6:30pm, Officer responded to the 800 block of Taylor ST NE for a shooting victim. Upon their arrival they located an adult male, who had been shot multiple times. The victim was unconscious and not breathing. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim is currently in critical condition.

“MTPD is actively investigating, including reviewing video from aboard the railcar.

Below is the narrative from the police incident report:

On 11/26/2018 at approximately 0750 hour V-001, a blind male with a service dog, reports boarding a red line train in the direction of Shady Grove at the Rhode Island Avenue metro station located at 919 Rhode Island Ave NE Washington, DC when he inadvertently bumped into a passenger as he boarded the train. As the train left the Rhode Island Ave station S-01 pushed V-001 and began to verbally threaten him. W-1 intervened and attempted to defuse the altercation when S-01 and S-02 began to shout obscenities at her. W-1 further reports that as she attempted to call the police S-01 and S-02 attempted to grab her phone, however she was able to hold on to her phone, call the police and later video record the altercation that had developed between S-01, S-02 and an unknown/unidentified passenger as the train continued to service the subsequent two (2) stations. W-1 reports the altercation ended when the train serviced Union Station and S-01 and S-02 got off the train making good their escape. V-01 reports having no injuries and no medical attention was required. DVR requested.

Suspect 1 is described as:
B/M, band-aid under his right eye, dark blue jeans w/ dark blue, blue and white underwear showing, and a black hooded sweat shirt

Suspect 2 is described as:
B/M 18-20 yoa, black knit cap, blue stone washed jeans”

“Earlier this afternoon members of the Fifth District responded to a call for service for sounds of gunshots in the 1800 Block of Benning Rd NE. Officers arrived on scene and located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The first victim was pronounced on the scene. The second victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. MPD’s Violent Crimes Branch will handling the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this offense are encouraged to contact MPD at 202-727-9099 or via text at 50411.”

“Dear PoPville,

Around 7:45am, I boarded a red line train at Ft. Totten heading towards Shady Grove. There was a swell of people near the doors, so people shoved their way on once they opened. Among the people pushing through was a blind man with a seeing eye dog. Once the man sat down, he was approached by two teenagers, a taller kid with kind of a scraggly beard, and a younger one with a bandaid on his face. The older one asked why the man was pushing.
